I’m starting to write this post sitting on the front steps of my southeast London flat. We were never fussed about a garden because “it’s so much hassle to upkeep”, “we aren’t here on weekends enough to use it” and “if it’s hot we can just go to the park anyway”…

It’s no secret that recent years have brought challenges for the high street and British gems that have held their position in the city centres of every town are facing the reality that their prestige alone isn’t going to be enough to keep them there…
